Hi,
I am on Lexipro 10 milligrams and Lamictal 200 miligrams. When I was taking 100 milligrams of Lamictal it worked amazingly well for my depression for around four months. Then it stopped working. My med doc. upped the dose to 200 miligrams of Lamictal--it did not work, so three weeks ago he put me on Lexipro, and I still am depressed. I would love to hear something good about all this and not negative. Does anyone have anything to tell me. I hope so, I am very depressed and thinking nothing is going to work. And my brain starts thinking why am I taking all this when nothing is working. Although, as I said, the Lamictal on its own at 100 milligrams worked for awhile. I had energy, I felt happy and itworked. Now with all this new stuff nothing. Oh I forgot to metion I take 100 miligrams of trazadone for sleep at night. Also, I take the other meds at night

Hi there.
I understand the frustration of finding the right med but it's well worth the wait. I was on the same combination but with different dosages. I really liked Lexapro but it seemed to stop working after a while and I was on a higher dose. (10 mg is a very low dose.) I'm not sure if a lexapro increase would help you or not. My doc added Wellbutrin to the mix too.
Now I've substituted lexapro for cymbalta and switched from trazadone to seroquel. I'm also still taking the lamictal and wellbutrin. I feel that this combination is working for me but I know everyone's different. By the way, I take all of my meds in the morning with the exception of seroquel which I take at night.
Hang in there!

Thank you Wildflower for answering me it means a lot. I feel so alone on this journey and I thought maybe I was taking too much medication. I think none of us would choose to take it if we didn't have to. So the Doctor upped me to 20 milligrams of lexipro. So as I said, my mix is Lamictal 200, Lexipro from 10 to 20, and Trazadone 100mg. all taken at night. I was feeling groggy during the day that's why I take it at night. Don't you feel groggy on Lexipro? I felt like going off the meds. due to the fact it has not been helping me. But I know that is not the answer. I pray this works. And I pray you are doing okay. So very nice to hear from someone.

I take Lex, but not the other meds you mentioned. In the beginning it did make me drowsy, fell asleep during the day ALOT. However this se does go away after a few months.~~~8|8

Mariposa how much Lex do you take and what are the results for you? I'm glad to hear the sleepiness wears off. I seem to be tired all the time since I have been taking it. Thanks for being in touch. Let me know how you are doing.

Have been taking for 20+mos., currently @30mg. Have good results combatting depression and PMDD. Drink coffee, not because of se's, just because I love it!! But it does help. I also had that horribly tired want to sleep all the time drag-butt feeling, but after 5-6mos. it did go away. Also found during that time if I forced myself to get involved in *projects* at home or at work and didn't think about being tired, I actually felt energized and got a lot done.
GOOD LUCK and come back often for support,,,,it really helped me!!~~~8|8
