HELP Are my meds pooping out? Why did this happen?

Posted by tampagirl70 on November 15, 2004, at 12:50:18

2 weeks ago I was a crying mess, very sad and depressed. I was also obsessing which is usually what causes the depression, or vice versa. My pdoc upped my Celexa to 60mg from 40mg and by the end of that week I was feeling better. Last week things were continuing to get better, but Saturday afternoon I crashed. I was out in the morning and when I came home that afternoon, I was crying and sad again and full of anxiety. Is this my meds dying on me or just a setback? Please give me some feedback - I hate feeling this way (not that anyone likes being depressed!).

I wouldn't necessarily throw in the towel yet.. I think it can take several weeks to stabilize on a med, even after it starts having some effects. It's a rocky road to recovery typically, I'd give it more time. I'm on week three of Cymbalta. I had one good day and thougt YES! It's working, then spent the next week in bed paralyzed with anxiety.... now today I feel more up again. I ry not to make a judgement from day to day, though it's hard. I'd give it more time.
