Just wanted to post my experience.
I had been very reluctant to drink since starting effexor. For weeks I stuck to just one mixed drink. Last weekend I had a beer and a cocktail. I didn't get sick or feel more intoxicated than usual, but boy did I get depressed! I spent the whole night sobbing uncontrollably on the couch. This was set off by a very silly argument with my boyfriend.
My advice, if there is any chance you might get "triggered", don't drink and take Effexor (or any AD, I would imagine). I hate that insane crying that used to be a regular part of my life before i went on Effexor. A drink is definitely not worth it!
This is probably "common sense", since obviously alcohol is a depressant, but I know people have questions about drinking and medication. Not life threatening (although some are, so be careful) but not pleasant either.

I know the drink is not helping and has what i suspect HELPED me cry for many reasons. I could never cry before.
This is a;ll mixed up i know, but it relates somewhere lol!!!!
