Hi guys,
I'm on the following meds: 225mg Venlafaxine, 15mg Remeron, 20mg Zyprexa. I was diagnosed with psychotic depression when in hospital. Now I'm out and I'm seeing my normal doc again.
But this is the issue: Today my doc said we were looking at a different diagnosis because my psychotic symptoms started before my depression ones did. I basically thought everyone hated me for so long, that of course that is going to make you depressed after a while! She said the important bit is which is the primary problem and which came second. If the psychosis stuff came first, which they did, it's not psychotic depression.
Does anybody have any idea about what the new diagnosis may be? We only touched on this right at the end of the appointment. I cant imagine I'm schizophrenic or anything - but I cant imagine what else it is.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
PS: Anyone have any experience with Abilify? Doc said she will try me on this if this dose of Zyprexa doesn't do enough? What's it like?!

mood stabilizer might work. Like depakote or lamictal which I'm taking now. Diagnosis means nothing. Which meds work, does. I've had probably 30 different diagnosises. I honestly don't even know if it maters anymore.
Although psychosis was first, its posible the depresion is more prevalent now. Or not. Or both. I denied the thought that I was ever scitzophrenic for so long till I just wanted to know the truth. Turned out I was scitzoaffective. Depression with psychotic syptoms. I was psychotic till my freind died, then it turned also into depression. So I add meds.
