Donna, think of the Effexor as a tool to help you through the withdrawal. Don't think of it as poison you're putting into your body, think of it as an antidote to the pains of withdrawal. It's support to reduce the withdrawal symptoms.

Once the withdrawal is past, then you can reexamine whether to stay on medications. But for heaven's sake, Girl, you know you need something to help you get through this! You have access to something you know will help, and you know you need help to get through this.

I hope you'll follow your doctor's advice.

Hi Donna,

I would really doubt that Remeron withdrawl is affecting you, at the very most it would last for a week & consist mostly of insomnia & nausea. If Effexor was helpful to you before, then it will be helpful again, I would start taking it imediately. If you don't want to take meds again then you would want check out Dr. Bob's other boards like Psychology or Alternative.

Cheers,
Paul.
