I am wondering how many people gain weight on Lexapro. Also, does anyone know how long it takes for it to leave your system? On Wellbutrin now and am wondering if it will let the extra pounds come off. Thanks.

I definitely gained weight on Lexapro, even when used in combination with Wellbutrin. To be fair, this coincided with a period of low physical activity. But I think the Lexapro made me carb-crazy, and my diet was pretty sloppy as a result.
When I was on Wellbutrin alone I lost a little weight on it, and lost it without really even trying. This was pre-Well+Lex, though.
As far as clearing Lexapro, I think it take about a week, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the info. How long did it take you to lose the weight you gained on Lexapro? She is off it now for around 3 weeks. LP

I think it took me about 6 months to lose what I put on in 3 months. But this was without trying that hard. I could probably have accomplished it faster if I'd been working out more often.
Good luck,
