Risperdal + Weight Gain-Solution or Substitution?

Posted by becksA on September 15, 2004, at 14:47:36

I've been on Risperdal, in addition to Neurontin for my anxiety. I have recently upped my risperdal to 1.5mg daily, and it seems to help with leveling out theh moods, but I'm pretty sure that it is having an effect on my weight. I workout every day, and eat very healthy, but it seems whenever I have a simple bowl of ice cream late at night, or eat a little more than usual, the next day I see a noticable increase right away. Is this the risperdal? Are there other meds such as this, (lamicatal?) that arent as big in the weight gain factor that I could try?

Thanks

That's so funny that Paxil took away your appetite. I was always hungry on it and gained 50 lbs!
