Did restarting Effexor @low dose kill side effects

Posted by bert99 on September 11, 2004, at 22:22:54

I was reading in the tips section of some people sloooowly reintroducing effexor, i.e. half of 37.5 bid for a few days, then slooowly increasing it a bit more, until a therapeutic dose was obtained, and that way they had little or no side effects they had before when they started at 37.5 then 75 and so on....

I had originally started at 75, then went to 150, but had to discontinue after 4 months becuase of constant sweating and weight gain. However, THIS DRUG WAS WONDERFUL!! I was so functional and full of energy and was able to think and manage a household and kids.

Now I am off effexor, went through w/d hell, went on prozac, food cravings gone but energy also gone. Went on luvox, did nothing as well except make me crave sugars again. I am so lost. :(

Should I try this alternative approach? Even though I have been on effexor before, would this work for me?

I so badly need a drug that works like effexor. I am in Canada and can't get cymbalta (although I will buy it online the first chance I get).

Thanks so much

I am debating w eather to give it a go too... i was on it a few years ago for deprssion and i had the same affects as you.. till i took to many and got my first panick attack.. so i stopped it straight away and i been stuck with anxiety since... NOw i am depressed again so i t hought bout going bk on it proply this time obviousley BUT my anxiety isnt allowing me cus of drugs just making me worse kind of thing..
