Regarding the efficacy, i don't have much expectations about Cymbalta. In fact, i don't think it will be superior to Effexor, which it's still great, though.
HOWEVER, i have high hopes concerning the side effects. On paper Cymbalta has an amazing side-effect profile. A better quality of life is probably waiting for us.
Few sexual dysfonction, less weight gain, few or no anhedonia, better on anxiety, etc...
Now think about it!

if only SSRI's worked for me, that'ed be great. Sounds like this Cymbalta is doing some some good.
