I've found myself very interested lately in learning more about neurotransmission than just the basics (i.e., I know that serotonin binds to certain receptors in the brain, but what fundamentally causes this to happen? and which parts of the brain are primarily affected?).
I came across this wonderful video/text tutorial that is the best I've seen yet, and I would recommend everyone have a look:
http://www.williams.edu/imput/synapse/index.html
To really grasp all the concepts well it takes maybe 90-120 minutes of study, but it's well worth it. Here's another very helpful set of links along this same vein that are quite helpful as well:
Hope someone else finds these as useful as I did.
