Selegilines induced anxiety - will it go away?

Posted by zuzu80 on August 26, 2004, at 14:52:10

Hello,

I just started with 2.5 mg/day of Selegiline and experimented today with 5 mg. I feel it helps my concentration problems and I think it will help my low motivation levels with regular use. But the problem is that I get elevated anxiety with it. I already suffer from some social anxiety and it makes it worse (plus paranoid feelings), not to mention some feelings of of anxiety that have no reason!

Will the anxiety side effect subside with time?!!

Is there a thing that I can take to counteract the anxiety. I have heard that Amisulpride can help, in fact today I took 5mg selegiline and 75 amisulpride and despite that I got little anxious it was LESS anxiety than I got from 2.5 mg selegiline alone. So it might be the answer.

But anyway, has anyone experienced the anxiety thing of selegiline and found that it goes away after some time ?!

Thanx,
Christine

Iam not sure if the anxiety will go away, but I do know that many people take 2.5 or less on various days of the week instead of every day (say like 3 times a week) I think you may find this useful.
