I've been seeing a truly terrible, lazy doctor who won't help me at all in a battle over Provigil with my insurance company. All that's needed is a prior authorization, yet this guy has been just too busy for two months (for real!) to make a few lousy calls for me. This medicine has made a huge difference for me. I'm fed up, out of samples, and desperate to get this prescription filled. How does one go about finding a good meds-only pdoc? I'm in the Bay Area if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks!

I had similar problem, had to finally go to pdoc to get what I needed. But first had to suffer through several sessions w/counselor (I couldn't stand anything about her...hated her cutsey office, crappy *new age* music, the way she dressed, and especially the way she talked down to me) so that ins. would pay for it. It might be your only route.
Best of luck.~~8|8

Is your current doc a pdoc? If you change docs, you don't have to see a pdoc. You can go to a general doctor such as an internist.
Does your insurance only cover it for narcolepsy? If so, go to an internet site that explains the signs and symtoms of narcolepsy. This will better prepare you to articulate your symptoms with your doctor and increase the chance of getting the right diagnosis for the authorization.
