My husband has been taking effexor for approximately 10 days and said that he has not had one erection in the past two days. Is this normal? Will this go away? Should he still continue to take this?

There may be hope...After about 2 months the sexual side effects are much less severe than when I first started. Some people continue to have this problem and it goes away in others. Oh, and there's always viagra ;-) 112mg

Do you still take the effexor? He certainly will quit if he'd end up having to take viagra.

Hello - Unfortunately unwanted sexual side effects are one the of most common problems associated with AD's. Some people have found improvement in this area by adding Wellbutrin (or by replacing their current AD with Wellbutrin if the doctor feels that it is appropriate for your husband's situation).
Good Luck!

I have been taking effexor for 8 months and have done really well on it with minimal side effects. But I have to warn you that when I have a day where I forget to take it, i feel awful. I can hardly cope. I feel like I am in a zone and have major brain zaps. Just from missing one dose. Can anyone relate to this? I am scared to stop taking it eventually becasue of the severe side effects of just missing a single dose.
