OK, so my shrink (who lives in my neighborhood, so we see eah other a lot) and I reconciled: no Xanax, no Librium, but Ativan. Soooo, my starter kit is an Rx for 90 1 mg pills with the simple directions "take 1-3 tablets as needed". There are also lots of refills, and he said we could discuss adjusting the dose later. What should I expect from Ativan? I'm apparently staying the course with my Klonopin, so the Ativan is purely an add-on. 1-3 mgs? To me that seems like a broad range, especially for a newbie to the med. So...what can I expect? How long does it last? I've heard it's good for sleep..is it? Thanks VERY much for your help, I really appreciate any input.

Ativan is a wonderous little med that I enjoy taking every couple of days as needed for anxiety. as ridiculous as it sounds, I thoroughly enjoy knowing that an ativan day is coming up because it's so relaxing... in fact tomorrow I can take one, woo hoo! I'd say keep it limited to every couple of days so that you can enjoy the full benefits of the lowest dose without going through withdrawal.
