effexor withdrawal

Posted by tiajae on June 23, 2004, at 19:41:25

After reading what you all have to say about attempting to withdrawal from effexor, no offense but i'm more concerned about being on this damn drug than ever. Please anyone who has had success getting off let us know how. I am currently on 150mg per day and any attempt to wean has been awful for myself and those around me. My physician offers me know insight or suggestion on weaning off. Also my sex drive is gone...anyone else?

There are several posts here on effectively weening off Effexor.

It has taken me about a month...and I was on the same dose as you. Everyone is different though...
so you have to be as kind to your body as possible.

Benedryl is a was a great help to relieve the withdrawl symptoms for me..as was Xanax.

Several other have posted the 10mg of Prozac allowed them to ween off Effexor...and then quit the Prozac woth little or no side effects a mnoth later.

If you go to the top of this page...just before the dates section...you can do a Dr Bob search for all posts containing the words Effexor Withdrawl...give it a try...good luck..and keep us posted
