Hi there, have been on Zoloft 100mg for 6 days
I was previously on 50mg then 100mg briefly before I freaked out and told my doc I was stopping it. Problem is, I've been on most ADs already and she was keen that I continue.
So I dutifully put my dose up and I am now feeling seriously 'stoned' - can't really think straight, some anxiety, bit of brain fog, lack of motivation.
I was just wondering what people's experience of Zoloft start up had been and if/when side effects passed.
Thanks
xxxxx

I can only tell you of my son's experience which proved to be good overall. He was started on 50mg which helped him be a little more sociable but it wasn't quite enough to be a marked improvement. His Dr. put him on 100mgs and he progressed into an almost drunken condition in a few days. He was lying down in the yard staring up at the sky. No good! I chopped the end of his pill making it about 75mg. & months later he is doing well on this amount. Actually it allowed him to go back and finish the 10th grade. Now we are in the mode of reducing his dosages and he has gone down on Zyprexa from 20mg (a lot) to 10mg in one month. We are debating at this point whether to start reducing his Zoloft also. I say try 75mg and be patient for another couple of weeks, the drowsiness and fog may clear and you will be fine. I don't know why they don't make a 75mg Zoloft, I have heard others say that is most effective amt. for them. Good Luck!
This is the end of the thread.
