Does anyone know the difference between these two ???
A study I read said that zyprexa decreased BDNF in hippocampas but increased BDNF mRNA in hippocampas, could anyone clarify for me ??Thanks

BDNF is the result of the transcriptional instructions of BDNF mRNA (messenger RNA),<I assume- my knowledge of this is at the level of a high-school textbook> so although the two are very different I don't understand why the mRNA would increase but the product would decrease. Unless maybe Zyprexa up-regulates mRNA because it decreases BDNF: this would seem to result in a net increase of BDNF. Or maybe Zyprexa affects the nucleus of the cell where the RNA is but depletes the cell of proteins needed to make the substance. This is a question for chemist or someone of similar knowledge.
