How long (and at what dose/blood level)should I expect to wait before desipramine works?

I think mine kicked in around 100mg. It took about 3-4 weeks. That was the first and only time a drug has actually held ture to the whole having to wait a good deal of time. It caught me totally out of surprise. I couldn't stick with it though because it made me dumb and the dry mouth was awful.
