Long-term effects of Effexor?

Posted by AngeLMeg on May 5, 2004, at 20:36:36

Has there been any research on this? I've been off of Effexor for about a year now ( I was on it for a/b 2) and I still have nightmares and headaches. I also feel as though my memory has gotten poorer. Does anyone know about studies going on now or studies that have been published about this drug? Thanks.

Meg

Just wondering why you are worrying about long term effects of effexor? Did it not help you while you were taking it? Do you still feel bad? Why are you not still taking it??

Studies? Do you not read this board and only post?

Memory loss? What was I talking about?

I think these effects should wear off eventually. Low doses of prozac might give you some relief.

I've checked Medline before for specific studies on side-effects, and come up with zilch. I'll look again for anything "Effexor" related as soon as I have time. I'm interested in this too.

Unfortunately, there is little incentive for researchers to antagonize drug companies by airing their dirty laundry.

I have heard of Effexor effects lasting a long time. I'm sure you'll get better. Just hang in there, and see if a little prozac does you any good.
