I started taking effexor and for the first few weeks I was paranoind and sweating I had some anxiety and abnormal erection then the side effects went away they started me on 75mg and I went up to 150. I was on it for about 8 months and had never felt better in my whole life. The depression was gone and I only had only few moments of anxiety. Before I took effexor I had checked myself into the psychiatric unit because I was so sick of feeling sad. within three days I was the happiest person someone I had never seen come out before. Then after the 8 months I quit taking only because I was mad that I was on some pill and had only forgotten what all those years of hell were like. After abouth a month of not taking the drug Effexor I began winding back down into a deep depression and It lasted for a year I did not like leaving the apartment I isolated and could not keep a job. Then I finnaly got the balls to go back to the psychiatrist and get back on it! It has been only two days and I have already started to feel better again :). I am concerned about a few things one is if I am making the right decision because hey it is a drug and two if it is healthy for my body. I am feeling a little dizzy and my vision is a little blury but I remeber that all goes away after a couple of weeks. If anyone has the info about the health ? let me know! P.S. This Effexor stuff has worked like a charm
