Hi,
I have started taking Wellbutrin for my mild depression. My dosage is 2x150mg Wellbutrin SR. After 4 weeks it seems to me like the drug has no effect. I'm not even experiencing side effects.
I've even asked the pharmacist if it could be that the drug has expired and thus have no effect :)
I wonder if I should wait some more. I thought most people experience changes after only 2 weeks.
thanks for your input

Hi Indyj,
I was on 150 mgs of Wellbutrin SR and didn't notice a big change in mood. I took it for 4 weeks and experienced very few side effects. I stopped taking it about 3 days ago and don't feel any different than I did when I was taking it.
For mild depression you might want to look into low doses of Prozac or Lexapro. In my experience Prozac is extremely helpful for depression. Best of luck.

i noticed that welbutrin was very activating for me right away. i felt like moving off my ass within a couple of days. the actual mood lifting didn't happen for a few weeks. if you have waited for a month, then i would try something else.

Wellbutrin doesn't really have a typical AD effect. Personally, I notice that it makes me more conversational, but it's not going to elevate your mood dramatically. I think it's best used in concert with another drug, since it seems to have good synergistic effects.
Lack of side effects is normal - that's the main reason it's used so frequently. I do notice slight "memory blips" when I take it - but then again my memory's never been good. I was told this is a relatively common side effect.
This is the end of the thread.
