i am on 15 mg of abilify once a day for my ocd. i recently had a very bad obsession that my boyfriend was going to stab me. i called the police twice on him when he barely even raised his voice at me when we were arguing. i moved out to a friends and then the obsession broke and i am left wondering what the hell to do now. we have made up, but obviously i am not well. how high can you go on abilify? are there any newer drugs out there like it? i have to get in to see my pdoc but i would like to know before i go.

Are you sure that is OCD? That sounds like a delusion to me.

I think the diff between a delusion/paranoia and obsessing is that people who obsess about something generally become or are aware that the obsession is not reasonable or irritaionl. People who are delusional see their delusions as being true. They see no irrationality in their thinking

i have been told that i just have a really bad case of ocd, pure obsessional type, which is harder to treat. schizophrenia does not run in the family, but ocd does.

Hi.
What other medications are you taking, if any?
I know one doctor who has a patient taking 45mg. She is not experiencing any adverse effects. For right now, I believe that 30mg is generally considered the maximum.
Have you ever tried an SSRI + Risperdal?

i am also taking welbutrin, trileptal, and ambien. i also have biplar tendencies and the trileptal keeps me pretty stable. i tried risperdal and paxil but the risperdal made me so groggy. my anxiety isn't as bad as it used to be, so i don't take the paxil anymore. does paxil help clear up thinking more so than welbutrin? i like the activating effect of the welbutrin. i like abilify since i don't feel tired on it. i think i just need to go up. thanks for the info.
