Has anyone ever started on Prozac at this dosage, esp. if you've been on it before?
I had been slipping into the pit on just Wellbutrin (hoping I could come off of meds in the springtime, yeah right), and I called my PDoc 'cause I figured I needed an SSRI again. I had been on Prozac off and on in the past, many times with great success, at least for a while. However, I haven't been on it for years. PDoc said ok to start at 40mg since I had been on it before but after the third day, I having trouble sleeping and I've been unable to complete my workouts. In all fairness, it really helped pull me out the abyss, which is more important, but I'd like to know if anyone knowledge on this.
Thank You.

Hi,
It's too high to start. You can go up to 40 mgs Prozac [which is what I take], but start lower and build up over a couple of weeks. You'll feel a lot better.

Thanks, Joy. Took only 20mg yesterday and will continue on 20mg for a while.

You may want ot try taking it at a different time. If you now take it in the morning, try taking it at night (after your workout).
