Anyone have itching as a side effect with either/both of these meds? My son is saying that he is itching...not so badly that he is bleeding, but irritatingly itching. Called the pharmacy and he suggested that I lower the Depakote dosage, that it was too high for a 13 year old.Oh~ also, when it says 250mg tablet, and he is taking 2~ that makes it 500mg total right?Pharmacist was really shocked that he was taking so much.

Talked to pdoc and he said to stop Depakote all together. I am kind of afraid. What are the withdrawls? He said there were none, but u never know...

Hi:
The pdoc. is right, ... because Risperdal is one of potent APs that has some Mood Stabilizer effect along with A.D. as well.
Once before I was on Depakote 750 mg. divided three, from the morning to the bedtime, but itse effectiveness faded away. Then, I did completely stopped, ... without any withdrawal symptoms.
However, if there is any 'unusal symptoms,' and then you'd better to contact his pdoc. IMMEDIATELY.
