I have been on EffexorXR for about 3 months. I know coming off is not going to be for at least another year. I was just wondering what the withdrawal symptons are of this drug so I can know what to expect. Thanks for the info!

Hi robz,
I had a horrible experience coming off Effexor.
I just went to the archives around May 2002 called "Anyone had success on Effexor XR?"http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20020503/
Also in June 2002 there is "Effexor Withdrawal" and "going off"
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20020602/
It seems there was a lot of Effexor talk on the boards at this time, even through that summer of 2002. The archives are listed above the posts on the main page - you'll see them.
It took me about 3 months to totally wean myself off. I missed work, I felt like I had the flu almost all the time...well, just read those posts!
To be fair, though, some people have had *no* problems getting off Effexor. My mom didn't notice a thing!
Good luck!
