About two and a half weeks ago my Dr put my on Buspar to counter sexaul SE from lexapro. When I first started taking the buspar at 15mg it made me sleepy and completely dingy. I couldn't concentrate and I couldn't focus. I forgot everything. Plus I was intolerable sleepy all day and night. So I cut my dose down to a half of a half. And tried to move up from there. I have fluctuated from taking a half of a half to the half at night. Trying to get my body use to the buspar.
What I have noticed is that I have been more irritable and crabby. And I have stayed tired all the time despite the cut back. So I stopped taking it and my tiredness has gone away.
I don't think this is the solution for my side effect. Does anyone else have any suggestions what I can do or what has worked for them? I tried ginko biloba but wasn't sure how much I should be taking of it or if it would have any side effects. Any experiences at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You may want to talk to your doc about Wellbutrin, it's been used that way before.

That's part of the problem. I'm already on 300mg of Wellbutrin now. I don't know if this side effect will subside and eventually the Wellbutrin will work or what to do. It's just frusterating.

If you can handle the drowsiness (I took it before bed), you might want to consider trazodone. I was having sexual side effects with most meds I was on, including Wellbutrin, but trazodone gave me no problems in that area. I had to stop using it, though, because I couldn't regulate my sleep schedule consistently enough to let me use it.

I've found that L-arginine (500-1000mg/d)and ginkgo biloba extract (240mg/d) eventually help if you take them regularly. They don't totally correct the problem, however, just lessen it. And like everything, or so it seems, this combo gets mixed results. Some people apparently get no benefit whatsoever while others do. It's worth a try, though. Just be sure to give it at least 10 days before deciding it doesn't work. And be sure to get ginkgo extract, not the herb itself. The herb is much less potent.

Eek!
You should be very careful with the ginkgo tho, there is a case or two of it interacting badly with Wellbutrin.

A small dose of Ritalin (10 - 20 mg) does wonders for arousal and orgasm, in my experienience. (I take Paxil and Remaron).
