Has anyone else experienced really bad irritability the day after taking Ambien? I have BpI and have had really bad insomnia so pdoc prescribed Ambien so I could sleep at night. I don't know if my irritablility is due to mania or the Ambien. Jenn

I have experienced irritability, almost bordering on minor depression after taking ambien - which I do quite regularly because its one of the few things that work every time. I have never been quite sure if the ambien itself causes the problem, or just the fact that I am really hard on myself for needing a drug to sleep causes the problem.

According to my pdoc(went today) the irritablility is probably a symptom of mania and not the Ambien.

I had an anger issue with klonopin and it's in the same class as ambien. The med helped anxiety, but I was a mean calm monster. That's very scary combination.
