I have been on neurontin for about a month. I am taking 400mg four times a day. Yesterday I forgot to take my afternoon pills so I took all three at bedtime. I noticed that I slept better and had less pain when I woke up.
Has anyone else taken this for pain or sleep and in what doses? I have a problem with fibromylagia and osteoathritis and would like to find something that really helped these problems.
Thanks

> ThanksI take 900 mg. when I go to bed. I usually conk right out but wake up again at 3 or 4 AM. Sometimes I sleep through the night. More often I just doze off and on from 4 to 7 AM.
I have recurrent chronic fatigue syndrome. The pain is not constant, but it was especially bad last October. I don't think the Neurontin helped much. There were a couple of nights I did not sleep *at all*. However, my pdoc thinks it should help with pain.
She also thinks it should help my anxiety. I'm taking 200 mg. in the morning, but it doesn't have much effect for that either. I'll be adding another 100 mg. in a couple of days.
I just saw a rheumatologist who thinks tricyclic ADs or Wellbutrin help pain. I think amitriptyline is often prescribed because it's sedating.
Ultracet helped the pain much more than anything else. It's a combination of tramadol (a narcotic pain-killer) and tylenol. I was taking 1/2 doses and it took the edge off.
