Due to lack of funds and the cancellation of my insurance, I have been off zoloft now cold turkey (having been taking 75mm/day for about one year). Well, thank god there is Canada and I am having a new batched shipped to me soon.
Now, about 4 years ago I was taking prozac for about one year and tapered off of it "safely" over a period of a month. By the end of that second month I was in such a self-conscious, panic-ridden hell, I vowed never to go off meds again.
I was told later (after having gone quickly back on P) that there is a kind of negatvie swoop on the scale and that if I had waited I would have gotten at least back to 0--where I was before I ever started taking meds to begin with.
So, now it's been 10 days and I know that Zoloft has a much shorter shelf-life and I'm thinking okay I sense a bit of an edge is back, but I can handle this.
Am I in for a big surprise?
Will I be back in that hell in a few weeks? Or since Z has a shorter shelf life am I getting close to what it will feel like being totally off?
I do plan on taking the meds when they arrize, but maybe at a lower dosage and then, perhaps only to taper off ... but I never want to go back to that hell again.
Please share your thoughts on this.
Thanks,
J.
