its just been aaaaaaawwwwweful.
the withdrawal symptoms alone are enough to make me wanna jump off a ledge !
i have never felt this sick ever....
Its been a week off effexor.can anyone tell me how long the "hell" is supposed to last, and if I will ever be ME again ?

I went off Effexor a year ago while in the Psych hospital. I was also going off Klonapin and Ambien. I was a mess for a week. The hell ended up with a grandmal seizure due to going cold turkey on the Klonapin. I think the doctor made a mistake. At anyrate a week after the seizure I started feeling somewhat better. That was two weeks after going off Effexor. Remember, I was also going off the Klonapin and Ambien at the same time. I never want to go through that hell again. The doctor put me on Lexapro, Risperdal, and Depakote for seizures. I am still currently on those meds.

thanks for sharing.
sounds like you went through greater hell.Hope mine gets better after 2 weeks. Dont know how much longer I can put up with this.
But then what other choice do I have ? I havent heard of anything yet to help calm the withdrawal symptoms.... apart from the one prozac pill (which i'm reluctant to try).
If you hear of any other tricks, PLEASE do share.

Yes you will feel human again. Depends on how high your dosage was and probably how long you were on it, plus how you tapered (if you did at all). For me, taking the tapering approach, I am now at around 1 week without Effexor. Though I still get the occassional brian shiver or mental twinge, I am very used to them.
Rebound depression is pretty bad. My moods are rapidly cycling from giddy and laughing, to moody and pessimistic for no reason. I feel out of control emotionally. But I'm not acting on my emotions so I should be ok until I stablize... if i ever will.
I have a pdoc appointment soon to go over how i feel without effexor but with a minimal amount of Imipramine each night. I can't tell if its doing any good.
You will emerge on the other side. I know, because i'm here. Hang tight!
