I've been on geodon 80mg twice a day for a year and would like to get off it or switch to another. I've heard horror stories about withdrawal from the drug. Has anyone successfully gone through the withdrawal process? For how long and what did you experience. I tried doing it on my own, cutting in half, and the withdrawal was horrible. Woke up sweating in the middle of the night, palpitations, and my whole body was throbbing.
Help!

>I have no info on Geo withdrawal. I am considering starting Geodon. I am hoping it may provide some AD effect without the sexual side effects.
If I may ask, why do you wish to discontinue? Would you be comfortable commenting on any sexual side effects stemming for your Geodon use?

With most meds it seems to depend on how long you were taking it. Thats my experience. 10 mg zyprexa I took for over 5 years, I decreased to 7.5 mg and the withdraw lasted months. Depakote I only took for 1 year, I stoped it all at once and had no withdraw. It seems to be an adjustment issue.

I havent had sex for a year so I dont know what the effect is.

What kind of withdrawal symptoms did you experience? Were you able to tolerate it? Did you just lower the dosage or did you get off of zyprexa completely? Thanks.
