> DonnaI have been on:
EFFEXOR for depression when i first came down with it, but i blame it for my anxiety/panick/mania...CELEXA sent me into hospital with a dangerous hrt rate and dangerous high blood preasure
ZOLOFT my hrt rate yet again was to high along with my blood preasure, but i was monitored as celxa caused me to go into hospital, so the zoloft was stopped within 2 weeks, did help me with my anxiety/obsessions.
PROZAC i was so depressed on that i nearly committed suicide(doc wont give me no more ssri's)
TRYLICS prothiadan, trazadone, felt like my hrt eas gonna stop, i guess i had a panick reaction to them.
VALUIM made me to depressed, and it didnt calm me down in a panick state made me worse. (my mind is so overpowering)
REBOXADINE/EDONIX made me wayyyy to manic
INDERAL for emergency needs, i took 1 40mg tab 2 days ago as i been obsessing that i can not breath proply and my hrt has been pounding lately also along with sweating, it gave me a panick reaction to it, i had to sleep it off.
REMERON currently still takin, longest med i have been able to tolerate, except for the weightgain, and it is pooping out as i am slipping into a worse case of depression than ever before, and my moods r scaring me, i feel that i can not cope any more and well you know those thoughts!! I feel as if i have stopped the remeron and this is the withdrawl affects, but i have never missed a dose, only for a few days mnths and mnths ago when i was taking aloud of flue remedy's!!
HELP
Thanx

Have you ever tried adding a benzo (Klonopin, Xanax, Lorazepam, etc) to any of your other meds?
Sounds like to me (based on your other posts) that you have alot of anxiety? I can relate, I do too, and it's awful to deal with. High stress & anxiety can make you depressed, not able to breathe properly, worry, have racing thoughts, have suicidal tendencies.Perhaps you can mention to your doctor that you need to feel *calmer*. Sounds like you are wired up a bit high?
You will be in my thoughts & prayers. Best wishes to you, I do feel your pain from your posts. Hugs!

> DonnaHi...
I have heard of and seen (and experienced) some excellent results with a small dose of an older, typical antipsychotic. I take Thioridazine (Mellaril) 25 mg's 2 x a day, with my Prozac, and man it works 100 x's better than Zyprexa, and doesn't seem to have the weight gain. (Plus it is so much, much cheaper!) Others on here have used Chlorpromazine (Largactil) and Perphenazine (Trilafon). Low dose seems to be the way to go with these, and they seem to be greatly underused (likely to 'coup' Atypical med drug profits.) These older, typical meds also don't seem to be associated with the diabetes and particular weight problems of atypicals.
I found these meds to be a far, far better med than any mood stabilizer, and I am BP2, Rapid Cycler. I find my activating Prozac dose (60 mg's) is nicely "calmed" by my Mellaril dose. You should also *seriously* look at adding a few other meds with these, including a benzo like clonazepam, and some T3 Thyroid Hormone to help with getting some of the weight loss (and feeling a bit more energetic) also. It works really well in Winter, and seems to make one less sensitive to cold. These are all fairly standard meds for the condition, and with optimal dose, you may even find yourself *transformed*, feeling better about yourself, etc. Most importantly, you will feel "in control".
Best wishes,
Jay

I know this sounds hokey but it might work. Take Toprol XL to lower your BP and stabilize your heart rate. Then start Zoloft again. Zoloft has a good track record for eliminating obsessions and compulsions and reducing anxiety. Toprol also can have a role in reducing anxiety.

In reply to Re: FOR ALL BP2 need help asap wats Toprol? (nm), posted by crazychickuk on January 22, 2004, at 14:03:13
Toprol XL is normally prescribed for regulating irregular heartbeat and lowering blood pressure. I have used it for a 2 year period and side effects are minimal. A side benefit of this medication is that it can provide minor relief as an AD or AP to some patients. I don't know if it is available in the UK.

Crazychick:
My PDoc just pulled me off Remeron (for sleep) because of weight gain and put me on Topomax because it can help with not only the sleep, but with lowering the weight and mood stabilization as well. I took an online test, I may be bipolar as you are, along with the depression. One of my maternal aunts was BP.
Anyway, talk to your doc about Topomax. It seems to be working well for me so far.
Best wishes!
Tony
