Zoloft Sideeffect Questions

Posted by theta99 on January 3, 2004, at 12:59:23

My wife started on Zoloft 3 days ago (the 25mg tablets). Her doctor prescribed it to help her with her Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD) as opposed to OCD. The doctor also said my wife suffered from anxiety.

Since taking the Zoloft she has had the jitters and feelings of depression. She said she was crying at work this morning.

Anyone know if these are common sideeffects of the drug? And if they are, are they likely to go away in a while?

Comments please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi ...I have experianced encreased anxiety and depression everytime I have started on a Anti-D..I was put on lexapro 6 weeks ago and the depression and anxiety was so bad after starting it,I didnt think I was gonna be able to make it.My doc added .05 mgs of Klonopin to help with the anxiety..The depression has already pretty much gone away (still have bad days but not as many as at first) I hope things get better for your wfe soon and hopefully the Zoloft will start to help her :) By the way I was on Zoloft for nearly 10 yrs and It worked wonders for me..

I would reduce to half of the dosage and see what happens. If these side effects subside, then It might be the medication (in which case you may need to stay on a reduced dose to see if the side effects subside or not)
