In a few weeks my doc is going to take me off of Seroquel and I'll be starting on Lamictal. I am also on Effexor 225mg and Synthroid 100mg. (We thought I had GAD/depression but doc now thinks BP2...Seroquel was to augment Effexor to help severe depression)
I've read some posts about problems with coming off of Seroquel too fast. Something about atypical NMS. I don't know what that is but am wondering if anyone has had problems coming off SEroquel. Also, anyone had good experience (no problems) coming off it and if so, how did you do it. I am on 50mg and am very sensitive to meds. (When my dose was increased from 25 to 50 I fell down the last few steps on my way downstairs the AM after taking it..I was so groggy and zoned)
Thanks

In the past I have taken Seroquel "steadily" I guess for a little while (ie: every night). I was afraid of weight gain with it and experienced sluggishness and an unbalanced/spinning? feeling at times the day after. I got off of it, but I still have some samples, and I only use them now when I absolutely cannot sleep, namely due to rumination, etc. I did not experience nor have I experienced withdrawal effects--at least that I was aware of! Best of luck :)
