Dear all,
I had been on Wellbutrin for about a week. It caused me with unbearable anxiety. I think it is not a med for me.
I would soon switch to another med. Anyone could advise me how long would it take for the wellbutrin in my system gone totally so that I can satefy take another med?
Thx.

You do not have to wait at all. Many people take Wellbutrin in combination with other antidepressants.

From what I have read, most people don't have a major withdrawal from Wellbutrin. It would appear that the med should be out of the system within two days. A pharmacist would no for sure.
I know what you are talking about with the anxiety, but I am hanging it out for a few more weeks. I have read that others take a benzo while adjusting to wellbutrin, because of this anxiety problem.

I'm at my second week of Wellbutrin XL. I also use Klonopin, which does not cut all the anxiety I have experienced. I do think, slowly, it's getting better and, at times, I really beleive I feel better. I'm sticking with it for at least another 2 weeks. The anxiety stuff is h*llish, but I will have to say, for me, while this has been no picnic, it was better than the start up phase of any SSRI's.
I know that wasn't the question, but I thought you would like to know others do have this SE, too. Benzo's do help, in my opinion. Good Luck in finding something that works for you.

I stopped the old Wellbutrin (no sustained release factor) cold turkey once about 3 years ago.
Didn't have any problems at all.
I wish you the best in finding a med that works for you. :-)

I have a good friend who has stopped and restarted Wellbutrin several times since 1996. She had minimum withdrawal. I haven't heard of anyone having horrendous withdrawal symptoms with Wellbutrin...now SSRIs are a different story!
I wish you the best!
