Ive been on wellbutrin for over 1.5 months now. Over the last few weeks my doc upped my dose from 200mg/day to 300mg. It really hasnt done much for my ocd/ social phobia and i feel really shaky on it. Is my doc ignorant in keeping me on it when im shaking and has not benefited my symptoms?
I was first taking klonopin with wellbutrin and have started to slowly taper off it. My doc says the shakiness is probably do to the lowering the dose of klonopin. But before i started the wellbutrin, I was on klonopin and there were several times i took a couple days off and did not experience shakiness which makes me believe its the wellbutrin.

FWIW, Wellbutrin made me very agitated and itchy/crawly/jumpy feeling.

I don't want to say your doc is 'ignorant,' but I experienced shakiness with Wellbutrin at 300 mgs, and my doc lowered my dose. Especially if it hasn't helped matters, I think you should talk to your doc about lowering your dose and/or adding something less activating. For what it's worth, Wellbutrin has been good for me at a lower dose but induced a hypomanic state combined with anxiety at a higher dose. Just my thoughts. As my doc says, no need for you to live with such side effects.

Tremors won't necessarily stop, especially if you on are too high a dose. If you're still having tremor after 2 months, you should probably talk to your doc about lowering the dose, unless the benefits are outweighing the tremor SE.

Matt,
>> It really hasnt done much for my ocd/ social phobia and i feel really shaky on it. Is my doc ignorant in keeping me on it when im shaking and has not benefited my symptoms?
<<I'm on 300mg Wellbutrin, too. I take the WB SR kind, one in the morning, one at night. I had tons of weird side effects when I started, and it took a while to go away. Takes awhile for any side effect to go away for me. And, unfortunately, takes a while for the drug to actually *help* me.I'm not being helpful at all, am I? Stay in close touch with your doc. I think a 2 month mark is a good one, too. Most (not all) of my SE's went away by then. And it might be the *combination* of the reduction in Klonopin and the addition of WB that's giving you the shakes, not just the WB itself..
Good luck with everything. WB has helped me TREMENDOUSLY and the side effects I've got left are, so far, tolerable and worth the bother so that I can feel good.
Susan
