ive been on lexapro for 3 weeks now; at first i felt high, not really all connected but felt good and anxiety was less; then i felt mood was going downhill slightly but didn't think much of it from other's posts; this 3rd week i am soooo tired (about to pass out after being up 12 hours minus a 30 min nap) and anxious (possibly anxious bcos im tired) and irritable (dont even want to see my guy so i wont be difficult). i saw my pdoc the other day but thought i was just imagining feeling bad (always second guess myself) but today was howw-wible...maybe its pms...ack!

This is about my third week of being on Lexapro also. Like you, I didn't feel connected and I was starting to have less anxiety at first. I'm going through the same thing though this week as you are...it's been nothing but crap. I started noticing myself going downhill for a few days when I now feel like I'm pretty close to bottom. I also have to be careful who I see because I'm so miserable. Maybe it's just the two of us or maybe it's more common, but you aren't the only one going through problems around the third week. Hopefully you can stay with it and it'll start working better for you!

Sorry that you're feeling bad too. But reading your post makes me feel like I should keep taking it.

I too ran into trouble around week 3-4. I cried every day and was very fragile all week. All someone had to do was look at me wrong and I was in tears. From what I hear, it does get better. However, I'm on week 5 and I had to stay home from work yesterday - slept in until 3:30 pm!!! I've never been that tired in my life. I say we all just keep going and if things don't improve, maybe we should consider switching.
Good luck to all of us! :-)

> Good luck to all of us! :-)I too had trouble around week 4-5, deep depression and anxiety attacks. My pdoc increased dose at that time from 5mg to 10mg and that seemed to help. I just want to encourage all of you to hang in there, the worst is almost over. Around wk 6-8 you should start to feel the *benefits* of Lex, however, you may not notice. This happened to me, I was waiting for something *BIG* to happen and nothing!! I went through wk 6, 7, and 8, nothing! Then one day in wk 9 I was sitting on couch watching tv, something funny came on, I laughed, really laughed, and all of a sudden I realized...THE LEX IS WORKING AND I FEEL GREAT! Other people around you may notice a difference befor you do, people at work noticed when I didn't.
So hang in there guys!!!! Best of Luck!~~~8|8

>Thank you Mariposa! I think there are a lot of us who are hoping this is the magical pill that will make everything bad go away. (Yes, I know nothing like that exists.) Sometimes it's others who will notice the change in us before we notice ourselves.

Hi Almond Joy,
I'm sorry you're feeling so awful. I don't know much about Lexapro, so I can't be of help, but I just wanted to let you know that your subject line gave me a good chuckle!

Most medicines make me feel that way, too. The treatment is often worse than the disease.
