somnolence vs. fatigue

Posted by River1924 on July 21, 2003, at 17:56:46

What is the difference between somnolence and fatigue? I take zonegran now and in the past I've noticed side-effect sheets for other meds list these two side-effects separately. What is the difference?

Well,to me, somnolence, is a sleepy/drowsy/hypnotic feeling.Like when you are dozing or just falling asleep. Fatigue is a "worn-out" feeling, as when you are tired from exertion (mental or physical). It's like saying sleepy vs. weary. (Fatigue with no exertion, is a symptom of depression). You can feel tired/fatigued without actually feeling drowsy/sleepy. Does that help??
