Are they the same except that Adrafinil would possibly increase liver enzymes?

Thx.

Hi.

A few years ago, adrafinil was a popular drug on Psycho-Babble. There were a few people who reported feeling better on adrafinil than they did on modafinil (Provigil). One person even switched back and forth twice just to be sure. In the body, adrafinil is metabolized extensively into modafinil. Liver toxicity is indeed a concern with adrafinil, but I suppose regular screenings would mitigate any risk. Another advantage to using adrafinil is that it is relatively cheap. Provigil is very expensive.

I hope this helps.

Adrafinil gave me pretty intense headaches, whereas modafinil (Provigil) did not. As far as their effect goes, I found them very similar with subtle differences. I would try adrafinil first just for its price tag.

Personally, I don't think provigil works as well and I had fewer side effects with adrafinil. Provigil made me sweaty and anxious. Adrafinil was smoother and calming.

No, excedrin is caffeine and acetometiphen (tylenol)--I am confused why the original poster mentioned it in connection with provigil and adrafinil. I would assume those that have moved on to those meds have not had an adequate response to caffeine.
