klonopin

just in case any of you are wondering, klonopin works well for panic attacks, with little to no withdrawl effect at all if you take it in moderation, even if you take it for a long time, and is a temporary cure for panic disorder, of course CBT is the best thing known to man.

Perhaps....

Works well for some, does not for others. If you are one it doesn't work for, despite intense work, well, it's just.... we are all different.

I agree Klonopin, used well and as intended, can be a life saver

There's a disclaimer on this board about not believing everything you read. I'll put my two cents in and say that I was taking Klonopin at therapeutic doses for one year, am presently tapering off, and AM indeed experiencing withdrawal anxiety. Everyone is different from everyone else when it comes to ADs, benzos, etc., so please don't present your personal assessment as if its an irrefutable fact. (Sorry, just feeling a bit irritable from the withdrawal!)

I find Klonopin very effective for anxiety at a pretty low dose that I haven't had to increase. So, I plan to stay on it indefinitely and will deal with possible withdrawal at some point, if necessary. Just about all of these psychiatric meds cause withdrawal for some people. Luckily, benzos like Klonopin aren't nearly as hard to discontinue as the commonly used newer antidepressants (for most people).

I was on 3mg of Klonopin a day. I didn't feel it was helping so I recently switched to Tranxene 30mg per day. However, I feel horrible ( withdrawal reactions, major nervousness, and panic attacks) and I believe it's Klonopin withdrawal. My pdoc didn't wean me at all when my meds were switched. It's as if the Tranxene isn't even in my system.

It's been 6 days now and my symptoms have improved.
