Why do I get a big uplift in mood when I reduce efexor.
I've reduced it by 75mg from 225.(not recommended for others--I'm a long term efexorette)
Is it a dopamine surge?
From suicidal to this lift. It's only temporary I know but I'm just curious ..
Probably unexplainable.Oh well, wishing everyone has a healthy friday

It is my understanding that at higher doses, Effexor works more on norepinepherine (sp?). Perhaps when you lower your dose, it reduces the effects on the noreph and this may have something to do with it.

Thanks for answering jlo......
Now I'm thinking this med efexor has really pooped out as no withdrawal?? I'm usually climbing the walls now.
I see pdoc very soon and am very unsure whether to quit this and try another ad.
I know I'll get agitated nervous maybe agressive...later
I'm scared of losing my 'niceness'..I'm scared of losing that efexor feeling.
Maybe raising the dose will make it work again, like it usually does after I've reduced it.
:-(
