A couple of weeks ago, I started taking .5 mg of klonopin every other day. If I stayed on an every-other-day schedule, I'd be due to take one today, but I have not taken one yet.
Here is the problem: my neck and upper back are stiff as a board, and I have other physical symptoms that I rarely if ever feel. COuld this be klonopin withdrawal/dependence so soon???

Could be klonopin has a long half-life between 18-50 hrs approx. You might want to try xanax if you use the every other day method , as it has a shorter half-life . Otherwise use the every other day system w/klonopin , and then take a few days break every 10 days or so.

Personally, I doubt that you would develop a dependency after such a short period of time. But even if you did, I would not substitute Xanax, since that benzo has a much shorter half life and creates more of a dependency problem. So you'd be substituting one problem for another.
If you want to taper down, try .25 mg Klonopin every other day or discuss a tapering schedule with your pdoc.
