remeron sedation 7.5 vs. 15 mg

Posted by den2 on April 2, 2003, at 15:57:44

I personally find 7.5 mgs to be less sedating than 15mg. This is because the histamine effect is less at this dose. So there is a way to get rid of the remeron sedation other than increasing the dose to 45 or 60 mg. (when i did this I came down with the flu and was bedridden the whole day) 7.5 mgs is also good for depression for me anyways. The 5ht2 and 5ht3 blockage at this dose works pretty good for me.

I am interested in trying this dose also. I just switched from 45 mg. to 30 mgs. HUGE drowsiness difference. I much prefer 45 mgs. but had to lower it because it caused 8 pounds of fluid retention. Are you getting the same feeling/effect from the lower dose compared to a higher dose?

Can you make any comparisons between 30mg and 7.5 mg in terms of antidepressant effect? I'm sure it's safe to assume that the AD effect from 30mg is more effective than the 7.5 mg dose, but I'm wondering if 7.5 mg is still useful. Also, what's more sedating, 7.5mg or 30mg?
