> Last week I had a feeling of missing many heartbeats, went to the ER, but nothing was wrong by the time I got an EKG. It happened again a few days later, but this time I was still having PACs or PVCs, I can't remember whichm when I was in the ER. Anyway, there were a LOT of them. The first time I started to panic a little, and wondered if I was having a panic attack. The second time I had no other symptoms of a panic attack.

> My questions are these. Can antidepressants cause these? I should mention that I have been taking moclobemide, which had lowered my resting pulse rate from the 60s to the 50s, and maybe lower at times. After the first PVC/PAC attack, I stopped moclobemide, and washed out for 2 days since I thought it might be moclobemide related and because I was getting a little scared about the low resting pulse. After 2 days, I took one 37.5 mg dose of effexor, which I had been on previously. The next day I got the worse attack. So if it is related to antidepressants, it seems to be related to both of them.

> The second question I have is can PVCs or PACs actually be a one-symptom panic attack? I ask because I used to get panic attacks, but haven't in over 10 years.

> Thanks in advance for any help.

Most people who have genuine heart problems
actually dismiss it as something else ie. heartburn. The fact that you link it to the
AD means it may infact be this.my first experience of effexor 37.5 gave
me a resting pulse of 120 bpm. It does
not do this for others. (this is because
it depends on your levels of neurotrasmitters before you take a drug)If you get the feeling that it is the specific medication then change it, if not consider them panic attacks and again reasess your treatment.
Personally I would switch to an ssri just till you figure out what is what.Good Luck
