Fortunately, after taking my next dose, the symptoms went away.

its is such a relief to find that others are having to deal with uncomfortable side effects from discontinuing effexor. i have been off of it for 5 days now and have endured vomiting, intense nightmares, tremors, and dizziness. my doctor told me it was all in my head and there are no withdrawal symptoms from effexor! this withdrawal is by far worse than any depression symptoms i had prior to taking effexor. i am completely enraged that the medical community still thinks there are no side effects! please oh please anyone with any information on dealing with this, please let me know.
thanks

Dinah:

See if you can search the board for side effects and Effexor or Effexor withdrawals. I posted for a while in January and Feb when I was really sick from the withdrawals. Reading the board helped me a lot, cause my doctor too was saying "I never heard of such a thing". I had severe back and neck pain and muscle aches. I hope you feel better soon! One way to ease the withdrawals is to drop your dosage very very slowly, a week or more at a time. Good luck! Dysfunk
