Differences in generic clonazepam

Posted by Optimistic on January 29, 2003, at 15:57:29

I have been taking a pink .5mg clonazepam for over a year now. When i recently had my script renewed the pharmacist sent a yellow .5mg clonazepam (different manufacturer). I took it for the first time last night and I feel much different today. Feel spacier, lightheaded, tingling of extremeties etc. I was wondering if anyone else experienced feeling a difference when switching from one generic to another. I called the pharmacist and he says he can't get the pink ones anymore. Do you think the strange feeling will pass and my body will adjust? Should i look for another pharmacy who has the pink pills or am I just imagining all this?

I have been taking clonazepam off & on for a couple of years now. I have always taken yellow ones. Both the .5 & the 1 mg are yellow. I've never tried the pink. So I can't really answer your question..sorry. But I do know that the ones I take have been just fine for me, no strange side effects. If I haven't taken them for a while, then take one, I feel spacey, but just thought that was a normal side effect.

If you are more comfortable with the pink ones, maybe you should call around. It can't hurt anything.

I was getting ready to post, and ask anyone if they knew if it is ok to take 2 different manufacturers brands of clonazepam at the same time. My .5's are from a different manufacturer than my 1 mg. I can take 2 mg if needed, but I have one 1 mg and the rest .5's. I know I could just take all .5's, but I was just wondering. Anyone know?

Interesting...generally, I don't pay much attention to different generics (they usually seem to work interchangeably), but when I took pink clonazepam (presumably from the same manufacturer as yours) I found them noticeably weaker than the yellow ones (the yellow ones I get are from Teva). So now I just stick with the Teva generics. As others have suggested, you might check with the local pharmacies and find the ones that stock the generic that works best for you.

at first I took pink ones, but now take yellow ones...I really notice no difference. In fact, I don't notice a difference with any generic I take. Now, I did see a pharmacist who said different manufactuers can do things just a touch differently, so always take the brand name--but current druggest says they are all the same. So who knows? If the pink is better....call around and see who stocks it(it's a prettier color, anyway).
