Forgive me is some of you know of these already.
Some of these meds are being studied for more than one illness, or are existing meds being re-evaluated for other illnesses. Most of these mes are in Phase 2 or 3, others in clinical trial

Sorry, but just a question of information:

What does "orphan drug" in this context mean? I recently started Provigil, and am just interested in finding out whatever I can about it...

Thanks for your informative message. Some people may already know about these trials, but many of us (moi, for ex.) may not.

Orphan drugs are meds that are used to treat uncommon illnesses. Provigil is indicated for the treatment of excessive daytime sleepiness in narcolepsy, therefore it is classified as an "orphan drug"
