Hey, today I just switched my Depakote dosage from 500mg per day taken in 2 doses of 2 125mg tablets to 2 doses of 1 250mg tablet.Both of the bottles read Divalproex Sodium EC, the only difference is that the ones that I was first taking was 125mg and these are 250mg.
Today I just feel really stoned... like I feel really tired and groggy, sedated, can't hold my attention to anything for too long. Today was also one of those days where I had to go get my blood work done so I didn't take my medication till an hour after I'm used to regularly taking it.
I've heard of this sometimes being an issue with Depakote, but I didn't have a problem till today when I changed the pill sizes. Has anybody else had this problem? Does it go away or should I just go back to taking 2 125mg tablets twice daily?

>Wow, that's weird. I suppose it might be possible that the two 125mg EC tabs dissolve more slowly than a single 250mg EC tab. I am taking 125mg Sprinkle caps (1/2 cap twice daily), for now. If I increase back to 250mg/day, I want to get two 125mg Sprinkle caps.

Check your blood levels of Valproic Acid. They may just be too high, so you might just lower the dose.
