Naxtrexone(Revia) disociation/derealization?

Posted by jaby on November 4, 2002, at 18:49:41

I know there are old posts, but does anyone have any input on using Naltrexone for dissociation/derealization/depersonalization? I'm BP II, but this has been my worst symptom by far. I feel like I might be able to shake this beast is I could lose the DR/DP. I did have a few weeks on lamictal that did the trick, but the poop out reared it's ugly head of course. All input is appreciated. Thanks!

I felt sick as a dog within days of starting naltrexone. I stopped taking naltrexone completely after one week when I did some research on the subject and learnt of worse side effects - being the likelihood of permanent liver damage.

Just type in naltrexone into any search engine like yahoo or alta vista and you'll see what I mean.

There was no way I was going to risk liver damage
from this drug which is saying a lot considering how much I was drinking at the time (not so good for the liver either)

By the way, my pdoc did not mention this side effect of naltrexone when he wrote my prescription
