I've been on MAOI's (Nardil) for years; My doc seems to think that it's effective, but I don't seem to be able to tell. I have so many ups and downs. I was seriously suicidal 1998-99 (hospitalized), but only occasionally so since, and episodes are not nearly as severe.
My doc has tried me on Lithium (YUK), Depakote, etc. Hated all of them. He now wants me to try Topomax for the mood swings. Says he's seen major improvements in similar patients. Now I've been reading these postings about it, and am a little bit nervous.
anyone had similar experience?
